Hand Dyed Stripes

Last week's yarn along included a gorgeous wheat colored Bulle tunic/dress (on Ravelry) by Brienne of Handmade by Brienne.

It was so pretty that I just had to pop into our lys "just to see." And of course, I found something beautiful.

2 hand dyeds from different continents.

Wonderland Yarn by Frabjous Fibers of Vermont for the pale robin's egg blue and Malabrigo for the mottled moss, purple and blue.

The Wonderland Yarn should be tried by everyone - so springy & soft with such clear, joyful colors.

This is my 2nd Malabrigo project and I love it.

Both say superwash.

I striped the collar the best I could with single rows but there is some short row work that effected that a bit.

The body is striped with 5 rows of the Malabrigo and 2 rows of the blue.

It's perfect Olympics knitting!

As for reading, I have a stack & haven't opened one. Too much knitting!

LYS Love

Last week, I came up with the idea of shopping independent yarn shops across the country via their websites.

Well, that was not an easy project. Sadly, many of the listings for shop websites ended with announcements of store closures. Many others don't have online shopping capabilities.

So  I searched and searched and found 2 options with the yarn I used.

www.applestooranges.netIf you'd like to try them, I'd like to recommend my LYS in Oregon, Apples to Oranges, www.applestooranges.net

                  Or

Paradise Fibers in Washington State. Www.paradisefibers.com. They seem to be a great family operated business that tries to support local & made in the USA fibers.

Do you have a favorite yarn shop? Leave their name & location in the comments. Maybe someone will stop in on your recommendation.
I'm joining Ginny at Small Things for the yarn along. Click on the link to see more beautiful projects.

    1. Oh great! It sounds like a great shop - best of both worlds; run by a local family that supports made in USA fibers but also an extensive selection. Have fun!
